Well, after spending a few days in and around Perth, it was time to leave the city and head for a national park again 😀. We had two motives for heading to Yanchep National Park, the first was that one of the main reasons we came to Western Australia is for the nature and wildlife its known for, and secondly Perth isn’t really a city that caters for a backpackers budget 🤷🏻♂️.
After agreeing to stick to using public transport to get around, the first challenge was getting to the national park using public transport. After a bus, a train, and then another bus ride, we were in Yanchep just outside the supermarket as planned, we stocked up on food for the week and managed to get an Uber to Henry Oval Campsite where we had the pleasure of spending 5 days 😀.
The Henry Oval Campsite is an awesome spot to be based with great facilities, hot showers, toilets 🚻, kitchen and dining facilities including electric barbecues, and power to charge stuff. There are lots of walks from the campsite and one of the best is it’s a great place to see lots of Australia’s wildlife, lots of kangaroos, some koalas 🐨 as well as lots of birdlife, the other is meeting and speaking with our fellow campers.
