The Citidel Qaitbay – Alexandria

Alexandria lies in the North of Egypt, it’s the 2nd largest City in Egypt, a port City which was founded by Alexandria the Great hence the name. It lies on the Mediterranean Sea, and given its location there is a huge temperature difference for the other parts of Egypt.

One of top rated things to do here is to visit the Citidel Qaitbay, which is a large fort on the Coast, its a grand structure which was once used by soldiers to protect the City from potential intruders. It has a large watch tower, there are lots of small narrow windows typical of a fort probably reduce the risk of arrows being shot through them during battle. It’s a thought provoking visit that takes you back through time, with nice views of the Mediterranean Sea 🌊 as you walk around the fort walls.
